Shine Apple Crisp

So one of my hobbies is cooking. I’ve said that but I bet many didn’t believe it considering I’ve posted so very little in my hobbies blog. Hey, when you’re super busy hobbies don’t happen much. I finally to play with a recipe. I made this recipe my own, but I always like to own my starter or inspiration. This started from fake ginger.com

Ingredients

For the apples:

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

5 large apples, peeled and cut into chunks

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 teaspoons of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey

2 teaspoons of Sugarlands Apple Pie Moonshine

For the topping:

1 cup oats

1 and 1/3 cup loosely packed brown sugar

3/4 cup flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

5-6 tablespoons softened butter

2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 teaspoons of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey

2 teaspoons of Sugarlands Apple Pie Moonshine

Layer the apples mix and then the topping. Mix those in a separate bowl first though. I did 4 hrs on low, but 2 hrs on high is fine.

I use Jonathan apples when I’m baking. Also, funny story how this recipe came to be. I knew that I had cinnamon in my house. I just couldn’t find that cinnamon. So as I was looking around my kitchen for an alternative I came across the liquor cabinet containing the moonshine and whiskey. It creates this amazing caramel sauce.

Some great recipes definitely come from accidents!
